New Job...Castlevalley Pageant

Daniel got a new job and started today.  Wahoo!!  The only thing that stinks is that he works from 5-10 at night and I get off work at 5:30pm.  So I am back to not being able to see Daniel until 10 at night...it reminds me of the single days when we were dating.  BUT I do get to touch him and not just talk to him on a screen so I will take it.  Now that I have a few hours to myself at home I guess I will start blogging again.  I know it has been a while but life seems to get soo busy.  A couple weekends ago we went to the Castlevalley Pageant in Castle Dale, Utah.  It is a very very small town.  My aunt and uncle live in an even smaller town next to it called Ferron.  They were nice enough to let us crash at their house the night of the Pageant so we wouldn't have to drive home.

Daniel37 sent me a smile one day. My roommate and I looked at his profile and figured why not send him one back? He was tall, dark and handsome...every girl’s dream (well mine at least!!) I figured he would send me a message but 5 smiles later, nothing!!! The last smile said if you want to chat send me a message. So what did I do? I sent him a message that said “Hi”. I found out later that he didn’t pay until I sent him that message. Yep, he had to pay for a message that said hi. ha ha :) We emailed back and forth a few times and talked on a phone a couple of times. The only problem was he lived 2 states away. He asked what we were going to do next and the next thing I know he bought an airplane ticket to Utah!! On our first date we went to a cupcake shop and chatted all evening. The next day we spent the whole day together and then he had to go home :( I talked him into coming out 2 weeks later to see Brad Paisley with
me. It wasn’t too hard to convince him since I knew he was into me (what can I say, he liked what he saw). I bought an airplane ticket to California to spend Harry Potter weekend together. Since then we have seen each other every other weekend and skyped everyday. After 4 months of going back and forth we decided that we wanted to be with each other for eternity and will be married at the end of the year!! Whoot whoot!! Thanks ldsmingle. We never would have found each other any other way. It just took one click and $30.00. Totally worth it!!

Daniel and I were married for time and all eternity on Friday December 30th at 10:00am!!  Here are a few pictures from our happy day!!!

I'm Getting Hitched...

So Daniel proposed on Friday September 30th and guess what?  I said YES!!  I am excited to start a new chapter in my life with Daniel!!  Yep so now people will actually be able to pronounce my last name...Shawna Bates!!! It has a nice ring to it doesn't it??!! :)  

Yep the big 28 is here..

So last Tuesday I turned 28...Crazy!! I remember thinking that anything over the age of 20 was old and I am far from old! Here are a few pictures from the day! It was fun being with friends and family and just enjoying some good food!! :) Thanks everyone!!

Daniel's visit to Provo... :)

Daniel came out for a little visit this last weekend and we had a lot of fun!! I picked him up at the airport and was totally late...whoops. Poor guy had to wait at the airport for me to show up but I had a good excuse. I stopped by work to get Daniel's present. I got him a Pass of all Passes!! Whoot whoot :) So when we got to Provo we went to Seven Peaks!! So fun!! We met up with my sister Debbie and her kids and Mike and Shannon and their kids. It was fun going with Daniel! I also loved going with my nieces and nephews. It was so great and fun to see them all having a blast!! Once we got done with Seven Peaks and got all cleaned up we went to eat at Wingers! Yummy!! Then came back and watched "New Moon". I know poor guy gets to watch all my favorite movies and all the Twilight movies are on that list!! He is a good sport :) On Saturday we went and walked around Target and Walmart and then went to Trafalga in Lehi and did a little mini golf and Laser Tag! After we went to the Real Soccer Game and came back and went to watch a movie with my cousin Angie and her man.

Sunday we went to church and went to my dad's and had some din din. We came home and watched "Eclipse" ha ha. So when I went and picked him up for church he happen to be wearing a tie that matched my dress perfectly. Dang matchy matchy!! ha ha So not cool!!

It was a fun weekend that ended with a great walk around my neighborhood!! I love going out and seeing all the lights while up on the hill! So fabulous. I am heading out to Cali in 10 days!! :)

Adventures to Cali...

I went on a little adventure to California this last weekend to a nice little city called Sacramento. Why you might ask would I pick Sacramento?? Well Daniel is the answer to that question. He is my excuse for a lot of things lately like...why I am late for church? Daniel...ha ha sometimes we talk into the wee hours of the morning or why did I stay at home last night? Daniel...I was waiting for him to call me back. Also I don't really care to go out and try to meet new people because I like Daniel!! :) So yeah I went out and visited him and got to see his stomping grounds. We went to Old Town Sacramento and went on the river walk and got to eat free candy in a candy store and he even made me steak. Yummy!! One of the days we spent out in San Francisco. Wow it was soo much fun :) That was the only time I pulled out my camera so here are a few pics...

The trip was such a blast!! I kind of feel bad for Daniel because when he goes on vacation it is to Provo but when I go on vacation it is to California!! I don't think he minds though because he gets to come play with me. I get to see him next weekend and then two weeks after that I will be out in Cali once more... :) Gotta love summer!!
