So Daniel proposed on Friday September 30th and guess what? I said YES!! I am excited to start a new chapter in my life with Daniel!! Yep so now people will actually be able to pronounce my last name...Shawna Bates!!! It has a nice ring to it doesn't it??!! :)

Daniel came out for a little visit this last weekend and we had a lot of fun!! I picked him up at the airport and was totally late...whoops. Poor guy had to wait at the airport for me to show up but I had a good excuse. I stopped by work to get Daniel's present. I got him a Pass of all Passes!! Whoot whoot :) So when we got to Provo we went to Seven Peaks!! So fun!! We met up with my sister Debbie and her kids and Mike and Shannon and their kids. It was fun going with Daniel! I also loved going with my nieces and nephews. It was so great and fun to see them all having a blast!! Once we got done with Seven Peaks and got all cleaned up we went to eat at Wingers! Yummy!! Then came back and watched "New Moon". I know poor guy gets to watch all my favorite movies and all the Twilight movies are on that list!! He is a good sport :) On Saturday we went and walked around Target and Walmart and then went to Trafalga in Lehi and did a little mini golf and Laser Tag! After we went to the Real Soccer Game and came back and went to watch a movie with my cousin Angie and her man.

Sunday we went to church and went to my dad's and had some din din. We came home and watched "Eclipse" ha ha. So when I went and picked him up for church he happen to be wearing a tie that matched my dress perfectly. Dang matchy matchy!! ha ha So not cool!!

It was a fun weekend that ended with a great walk around my neighborhood!! I love going out and seeing all the lights while up on the hill! So fabulous. I am heading out to Cali in 10 days!! :)

Adventures to Cali...

I went on a little adventure to California this last weekend to a nice little city called Sacramento. Why you might ask would I pick Sacramento?? Well Daniel is the answer to that question. He is my excuse for a lot of things lately like...why I am late for church? Daniel...ha ha sometimes we talk into the wee hours of the morning or why did I stay at home last night? Daniel...I was waiting for him to call me back. Also I don't really care to go out and try to meet new people because I like Daniel!! :) So yeah I went out and visited him and got to see his stomping grounds. We went to Old Town Sacramento and went on the river walk and got to eat free candy in a candy store and he even made me steak. Yummy!! One of the days we spent out in San Francisco. Wow it was soo much fun :) That was the only time I pulled out my camera so here are a few pics...

The trip was such a blast!! I kind of feel bad for Daniel because when he goes on vacation it is to Provo but when I go on vacation it is to California!! I don't think he minds though because he gets to come play with me. I get to see him next weekend and then two weeks after that I will be out in Cali once more... :) Gotta love summer!!

4th of July is one of my favorite holidays besides Christmas, Thanksgiving and Halloween!! This year did not disappoint!! Daniel came out and I took the day off on Friday and we went up to Park City! We rode the Alpine Slide and the Coaster!! I totally recommend it! So fun but here are some words of advice...don't get stuck behind a slow person on the Alpine Slide because then you will have to stop completely and wait for them to slowly go down and you will have to go super slow!! Lame!! Daniel was nice enough to wait for me while I slowly came down the mountain. He even put my little sled away...so nice :) That night we went to an Owlz Game. We put our blanket out and watched the game and after we got to watch some fireworks!! Gotta love them!! :)

Saturday we went and saw the movie "Something Borrowed" it was good but had a few awkward scenes. Gotta love those on a date. After we went and got some yummy food at Zupas and made our way to the STADIUM OF FIRE!! Oh how I love it there! I got to see David Archuletta and Brad Pasley!! One word to describe the night...Spectacular!! Wow I was on heaven singing along and dancing a little bit!! I loved it this year! The fireworks were soo good!!

Today my family had a BBQ and we went out and watched the fireworks around the neighborhood in Lehi and the Thanksgiving Point fireworks but we weren't going to let a little rain ruin the fun!! Good times :)

Overall it was a pretty darn fantastic weekend!! Who doesn't love some fireworks?? :) ha ha

Yep I booked my trip to California to see Daniel!! I am going out Harry Potter Weekend and if you don't know when that is it is July 15th!! Whoot whoot! I am super excited about this. Also he is coming out and going to Stadium of Fire with me. He is going to see what it is like P-Town Style for the 4th!! I am super excited that summer is here and it is time to play and go to concerts and travel!! So fantastic!! :)

This last weekend my good looking friend Daniel came into town to buy himself a new little car and I was lucky enough for him to pencil me in and we got to spend a fun weekend together. We had a blast :) We went and got some frozen lemonades, went to the Aquarium, ate at the Gardens, walked around temple square and watched a movie!! So fun and I can't wait for him to come visit again!! Thanks for all the fun times Daniel!! You are awesome :) I am going to try and bribe him to come out again for the Stadium of Fire in a couple of weeks!! I may even take a little vacation to California here soon...

Summerfest!!

So this last weekend was what you would call Summerfest!! Yes!! I love it. There is a carnival, a parade and my favorite part...FIREWORKS!! That's right it is the special time of year when I get to see illegal sparkly things fly up in the air! Love it!! So we got to Summerfest and found a great spot on the hard road but hey we were on the front row so no complaints from me. We got every little flier and handout that was passed out during the parade. My nephews were having a blast and loved getting all the little papers! The best was when my nephew Hunter got some chap-stick. He said, "SWEET!! This is exactly what I need!!" He was super excited and put it in his pocket. ha ha. Good times with the family!! So my camera died at the most inopportune time so I was only able to get 2 pictures from the whole night...Lame I know!! The parade was good. A UCCU float was there. Great way to represent...yep a little plug for work!! ha ha.

After the parade Jana and her kids left. They missed the best part...the fireworks! Hunter tried to convince his mom he needed to stay but he ended up leaving with the rest of the Bigelow clan. I think the chap-stick was the highlight for him and nothing could top it!! If only I knew that $1 chap-stick would have won him over I would have gotten him some years/months ago!! Anyway the fireworks were awesome but a little short...15 min is a good amount of time, I guess. Well last year I went with my friend Mike. I texted him and told him that I was almost to second base about to watch the fireworks (inside joke between Mike and I :) ) and he said he couldn't believe that I was at our special spot. I asked him if he was jealous and he said it all depends on if I was there with another man...do my brothers count as other men?? So I guess the answer is yes!! Ha ha. It was so fun!! Great night with family and friends!!

Summer is in the air...you want to know how I know?? The outdoor concerts have begun!! I love going to concerts and being outside!! So amazing!! I went to a rooftop concert on Friday! It was some local bands but just being out is soo great!! I didn't even wear a coat!! What a great moment...ha ha If only the sun would stay out!! Saturday I went to Earthfest!! I also enjoyed that!!! Wow I am a concert junkie...I am the first to admit it!! ha ha Here are some pics from the festivities of the weekend :)

Happy Easter Everyone!! I hope you all had a great Easter!! I am grateful for my Savior and all He did for me!! I know that He is RISEN and that because of Him I will be able to return to my Heavenly Father and will be able to be with my family again!! What a great holiday to spend time with family and just enjoy one another's company!!

I went to my brother Mike's house and had dinner and got to see their new house. My nieces and nephews are so funny!! Brighton walked in on me when I was in the bathroom. I told him to leave and he said that it was ok because he doesn't laugh when he sees people naked. ha ha. I wasn't naked but told him I would be out in a minute. Good times. Little kids say the funniest things!! :) My niece Jenna got a hold of my camera and decided to take a few pictures yesterday...

So today I decided that this 30 for 30 days could be fun and make the creative juices in my mind have to work. Also if I plan out my outfit the night before then I will be able to sleep longer in the morning :) Whoot whoot!! I love to sleep!! Well this is what my closet currently looks like...don't judge me not all of my clothes are in there. ha ha. This is why I decided to do this so I would appreciate all of my clothes and want to shop in my closet again!!

SO I found this the today while clicking on person's blog and then clicking on another. I think I want to try it but I do have a coupon to save $20 off my next $40 purchase at Rue 21 so I just may have to go use that but this looks like it could be fun and maybe I will be able to look at my closet and not think "I have nothing to wear today" becasue my walk-in closet is pack ful!! :) ha ha. 30 for 30

In December 2009 I started a style blog to document my daily style journey. By April 2010, I’d run out of funds and had lost the original intent of my blog: to remix the contents of my closet. I introduced the idea of remixing what was in my closet by the idea of the 30 for 30 Remix Challenge. "30 for 30" simply meant that I would take 30 items and remix only those items into 30, (hopefully) stylish outfits. The whole point of the remix is to show myself and readers that with a little bit of creativity, you can make what you have work for you. Interested in joining in? If you don’t have 30 items in your closet, no problem. The best part of remixing is working with what you’ve got. If you’ve got it, let’s remix it. If you have more than 30 items, pick the items that make sense for this remix. This is a challenge to help you learn to shop your closet and to shop smartly. By being well-versed in what you already have, you will become a better shopper.Why in the world would I add insult to injury, you ask? Because of two reasons: 1) so you'll learn to shop your own closet and 2) so you'll appreciate it. So many times I've run out and bought a new dress for one event or I bought something because I felt lacking and not what was in my closet. Obviously, this is not the best solution to a problem. I have found that when I limit myself with shopping, with 30 items, I become so much more aware of what I have versus what I need. By the end of the 30 days, I am ready to shop, but with new eyes of what I really need.This challenge can be taken at any time. Last year I did a 5k for autism and other learning disabilities on Cinco De Mayo!! Well it is that time again and I signed up again!! I think it will be fun!! I did it with some co-workers last year and it was a blast. Can't wait for this one!! Here are some pics from last year :)

Whoot whoot my 1st 5k of the year :) I have been doing so good this week!! I have been doing Jillian Michaels every day this week and it has almost killed me. I am getting ready for swimming suit season!! I have my pass of all passes and can go to Seven Peaks as much as I want. Oh how I love the sun. I bought my sun screen yesterday :) ha ha

So this last Saturday was a great day!! I woke up and went and got my roots colored in!! Oh What a good feeling to have color in all of my hair :) After I came home and showered and went shopping!! Wow I have been missing out on all the great clearance items. I went crazy and had a little too much fun!!I now have 8 new shirts, 2 new pairs of boots, a dress, 3 new tank tops and a thing to hang my purse on tables when I go out to eat. The best part was I didn't pay over $10 on anything except for the dress which was $20. I would say it was a successful shopping trip! After I came home and tried on all my new purchases and got ready for a wedding reception and then came home and changed and went to a smoothie party at my friend Kaylene's house. It was so much fun chatting it up and talking to new people. I had a fun filled weekend!! I may even have a few dates this next week!! Let's keep our fingers crossed :) ha ha. So a couple of my girlfriends and I went to Velour to see the band Fictionist perform!! It was a blast :) I absolutely LOVE concerts. They are a local band that is actually really good. Yep I got a little tired around 11 and had to sit down while the other girls were up dancing:) Oh man I am starting to feel a little too old for all this. ha ha. My 10 year high school reunion is this year...crappy it doesn't feel like it has been that long since I have been at Mountain View High School. Oh well one day older and wiser too!! :)

One Busy Week...

Holy Cow getting back into the Single life is pretty crazy. I am pretty much back into the swing of things and being crazy busy all the time :) Monday I went to FHE and watched a playoff game (Well technically I talked through the whole thing. Whoops!!) and ate some pizza. It was fun chatting it up with some friends from the ward and laughing and telling stories!! Oh how I LOVE some good stories!! After FHE I came back home and watched my all time favorite movie 27 Dresses!! So great!! I read a little in my new book called "Matched" and went to bed to wake up the next morning and go to work. I went up to Park City to check out some hotels for our Annual Board Retreat. One of the hotels, Hotel Park City treated me to lunch and showed me all around their property!! Wow it was beautiful!! After I got back to the office and did some work to get ready for an after hours work meeting. The meeting was only supposed to go until 6:30 but ended up getting over around 7:10...crap I was supposed to be at my friend Mark's premiere of his documentary "I am not my Body" on BYU campus by at 7:00pm. Shocker I am always late for EVERYTHING!! So I get to BYU and have to walk up a billion stairs on rape hill to get to the place and finally got there huffing and puffing because I just haven't had a lot of time to work out. I got to see the last 15 minutes of the show. I kind of knew what was going on but not really. I ran into my friend Michael and he told me it was "Hot Tub Tuesday" so of course I have to go. I haven't been to the hot tub in a little over 4 and a half months. I run home and shave and get a suit and go. I get there and it is me and 5 guys. Great odds right?? ha ha. So then I come home and shower and get ready for bed and read a little bit more in my book. Wow I am finally to Wednesday. I went to lunch with my friend Keira! So much fun seeing and chatting with her. I get home from work play on facebook and get ready for Institute. It is the last class of the semester. I meet my friend Kaylene there and saw a few friends. The guest speaker was AWESOME!! He talked about service and how you need to keep the Atonement the center of your life. We can always apply the Atonement no matter what we are doing in our lives :) So True!! After Institute my friend Mark and Melinda and I all went to Applebees!! Gotta love $4.00 appetizers!! We went back to his place and met his roommates and then came home. Today I got off work and went to my dad's for a bit because I was waiting for an award's ceremony to start at UVU. I got there and found a seat in the back by myself. I went because my good friend Karen from work got the Friend of UVU Award!! It was pretty sweet!! She is so amazing and has helped me a lot in my life so I wanted to go support her while she got this!! After the award ceremony got over I went to Zumba!! I kind of had to change in the car. ha ha Good thing no one was around and it was dark. I made it just in time!! Oh man I am so ready for the weekend but it is just as full as the week. I am sure looking forward to my Sunday nap!! Ohh I just love Sundays and naps, what a great combination!!! :) I hope you all have enjoyed your week!! Girl's Night

So it has been a really long time since I have gone out with the girls...no boys invited :) I texted my friend Corrie and told her I could use a girl's night and so she rounded up some friends from my old ward and we all went and got Zupas to go and went back to Corrie's apt and did what girls do best...chatted it up!! It was so much fun to see and talk to everyone. Thanks everyone for coming and keeping me company. So great!!! Sometimes girl's nights are just needed and this was at the perfect time!!

So my luck has finally returned...I won a drawing today at work for $50 free groceries to Winder Farms!! Whoot whoot!! I love free food!! So if you feel like coming over and cooking the food be my guest and come eat some free food with me!! I could use some company now during dinner times!! :)

Merry Christmas everyone!! I hope everyone had a great and safe Christmas :) Christmas Eve dinner was at my sister Debbie's house. My dad opened some of his presents and I opened my present from my sister Missy. She got me the curling iron I have been eying!! Thanks Missy (and Debbie for getting so Missy wouldn't have to ship it). I went home and stayed at my place Christmas Eve. I woke up later than expected and went to my dad's after about noon. Once I got there my brother Andrew and I opened our presents. Santa brought me a new shelf that matched perfectly in my new place, socks and leg warmers (my first pair!!). A special thanks to Santa and my dad. They worked well together to get me awesome presents!! We all got a great Christmas present by being able to skype my little brother Scott while he was on his mission in Brazil. It was fun seeing him and talking to him!! Pretty much it was an amazing Christmas!! Thanks everyone!! Hope you enjoy the Christmas pics :)

Lake Powell

So a couple of my coworkers invited me to go to Lake Powell with them a couple of weekends ago. I packed my things the night before still deciding if I wanted to go and figured I would be ready to go if I decided to take this little vaca from work. The first things to pack were of course my swimming suits. I packed probably 5 suits. Ya never know which one you will want to wear the two days we were down there. Decision time came and I decided I would be a little adventurous and go what I would call camping...we were on a houseboat and thank heavens I got a bed to sleep on!! ha ha. I went with Brad the VP of Marketing and Karen the Business Relations from Marketing. They told me there were going to be guys, lots of food and fun. Ya can't pass that up. ha ha. We pack into the car and all chat it up and were having a good time. We stop for food and gas and were just about to leave the parking lot when a little mishap with a chocolate milkshake and my new dress. The milkshake was not mine but ended up all over me. Thank goodness it came clean because I just got that summer dress and it was the first time I wore it :) The car got cleaned up and we were on our way. We stopped once again and apparently made a little wrong turn somewhere because instead of ending up in Page AZ we were in a National Forest with the temp dropping every few minutes. ha ha. Karen and I laughed our heads off because it was about midnight and poor Brad was all confused because there were trees everywhere...So instead of the 6 hour car ride it turned into about 8. Oh man!! I still laugh about everything that happened that night. We finally got there and walk into the houseboat and WOW it was nicer than any other place I have ever lived in. I slept on the pull out couch. The next day we all went out on the Boat and had a great time. Here are a few pics...So in every picture while I am on the tubes it looks like I am in pain but looks can be deceiving because I LOVED every second of being on the tubes :) ha ha But I screamed the whole time I was out on the tube...Sorry Picture overload but there were over 1200 pics so this is really not THAT many :)

So after we got back from Lake Powell I went and hung out with some of my new friends and I think the best was when one of them didn't recognize me. Apparently I look different with clothes on and my hair and makeup done :) Yes I do feel better when I get to actually make myself look presentable. ha ha. Thanks for the fun trip and all the new friends!! I can't wait to go next year :)

So the other day I was driving home from work and heard what mix 107.9 calls the Tookie tookie bird. I decided to try because ya know I have won tickets before and it won't be the last. I won tickets to the mix 107.9 5th birthday :) They invited Good Charlotte to come play at a private concert. I freaken loved it!! I took my friend Mike and we were on the 4th row :) Yeah baby!! They also took pictures of us with the group. AWESOME!!! I absolutely love concerts!! Thanks so much for the tickets!! I love going to concerts but I love them more when I get to go for free!!

Some friends and I did what is called the Dirty Dash. It was a 10k for cancer...I think. It was full of different things and lots and lots of hills. I recommend not doing it if you haven't worked out. Because that is what I did and I am in soo much pain now!! I guess that is what happens when you get older and try to be young again. ha ha. Our team was called Lint Lickers!! Ya remember the Orbitz commercial when a couple is fight and the other girl chimes in saying...you lint licker...ha ha I love that commercial!! I need a vacation!! I am ready to go somewhere and spend a fun weekend with friends :) I did go to Zermatt Resort and Spa in Midway a couple of weekends ago but that was for work...I am not gonna lie I did love the Honeymoon Suite. ha ha. I had some good alone time in the sauna, the hot tub and in my own tub :) Here are a few pics...I now will have a hard time going back and staying in what I would call a normal room. To get to my room I had to take a special elevator!! :)

Work Summer Party

So this year for work we had a little party watching the movie Cars outdoors on a huge screen. It was a blast and it was the perfect night. I love summer for this reason that I can go outside at night and not freeze!! So great :) ia mso not ready for winter to come. So tomorrow I will be officially done with my Accounting 2010 class :) Yipee!!! Wow I can't believe I did it. My homework and quizzes are all done and my final is tomorrow. I am leaving work early to take it. Now that I am almost done I can remember how much I really disliked school and homework and tests and quizzes. So as of right now I am not planning on taking another class this fall because I am planning on buying a place and I want to go play with all my new friends I will make in my new ward. I need to get myself married someday and being in school and being too busy for anyone will not help with me finding Mr Right. As my nephew Hunter put it...Shawna has been alone too long!! ha ha. Thanks a lot Hunter. Maybe 27 is my new lucky number and will find someone after I turn 27 :) But anyway I don't know how I got onto that subject of marriage...sorry. ha ha. All I have to say is that school is not for everyone but hey maybe winter semester I will want to go back :)

My sister's Missy and Debbie came into town. It is always fun when family comes to visit and I get to see all my nieces and nephews. While they were here we shopped, went to Lagoon and hung out. It was fun!! I went to Stadium of Fire and it was FANTASTIC!!! I loved Carrie Underwood!! I will be going to her when she comes in concert :) Here are a few pics!! Enjoy! :)

So for some strange reason I felt the urge to go back to school...hmm weird huh?? Yeah I didn't really like school the first time and I am now remembering why!!! I just really don't like doing homework and reading textbooks. Sitting in class is fine but not being able to go out and play as much as I used to is just no fun. It is a little rewarding when I get the answers right but it is far and few between. Accounting is like learning another language and I had to take Spanish 1 twice in high school because I just couldn't grasp it, so we will see how the first test goes. I am praying for a C so if you remember pray for me too!! ha ha. I will have to study study and study more just to be able to learn the language but I can do it!! :) I have finished my first week of school and I only have 6 to go. So yeah I am once again a college student and get a cheaper rate at the dollar theater. Yeah baby!! If only I had time to go watch a movie...

BYU vs Mexico Soccer Game!!

So thanks to UCCU I was able to get about 10 tickets to the BYU vs Mexico men's soccer game. It was soo much fun!! I invited my roommates Melinda and Melissa, my friends Cody and Devin and my family Diana, Andrew and Mark. We all went over and there were soo many people there. The Mexico fans were so crazy and were a lot more into it than us BYU fans. In the end we ended up tieing 2-2. But guess who came to Applebees while I was there?? Not only my friends Michael, Mark, Tamma and Tiff but it was...the WHOLE Mexico team. So great :) Yep that is right I did get a picture with some of them!! :)

My friend Cody invited my roommates and I to go and see some local bands play at Muse Music. It was a blast. As you know I am a concert junkie and I love going and listening and dancing to music!! Then on Saturday I went to my friend Lance's place for a party. It was fun going and meeting new people and making new friends!! Sometimes it is nice to chat it up with someone new. It also helps when a particular person is very good looking and tall... :) too bad he is moving to New York. ha ha This weekend was full of friends, music, hot chocolate and LOST!! I have watched so much LOST lately I am kind of a junkie with that as well. So Fabulous!!!

So I have now decided it is time to get ready for swimming suit season since it is almost already here. It is amazing how fast it comes up when you stop working out and realize your butt is just a little bigger than what you remember from last year...No more covering it up in my true religion jeans :) I have no excuses because I am recently single (no boy to take up my time. ha ha) and need to look my best for when I show my nice white body to the world. ha ha. Not really but I am going to get back in my groove of working out everyday!! I have the 30 Day Shred and I started it again today and wow it kicked my trash. I used to be able to do level three no problem and now I am dying on level one!! Hopefully this workout by Jillian Michaels will do the job because it is almost May. One month to look amazing!! :) Wish me luck and I will let you know how well the 30 Day Shred works!! I can do it I just have to keep telling myself, even though my legs now feel like Jelly...

GEOCACHING???

So last Saturday my roommate Melinda and my brother Andrew decided to go out in the sun and search for little treasures that people have hidden all over the world. We put the coordinates in my GPS and off we went. We ended up right by my work and looked and looked and looked but found nothing. So we looked up some more coordinates and I put it in my GPS. We started driving up the canyon and the GPS told me to turn left and go OFF ROAD. Well that is just not gonna happen in my little Mazda 3 :) ha ha. So we looked up another one that was by Bridal Veil. So we took a little walk to Bridal Veil. The GPS told me to go 400 feet in a certain direction and I started walking but looked up and there was a little mountain in the way...so in the end we didn't find any treasures but we did get to enjoy a nice day outside. I took a few pictures of our adventures by Bridal Veil :)

I talked to one of the executives from work and he told me exactly where the geocahe was so now I know it is for real... :)

Easter Weekend!!

So this weekend I had a good time!! I took Friday off so my niece Madi and I could have a sleepover party on Thursday night. We didn't start our party until 9:00pm but we still got some good girl time in...We painted our nails, ate popcorn and chips and watched "John Tucker Must Die" I hope Debbie doesn't mind we watched a PG-13 movie. Whoops...I guess it is better to ask for forgiveness!! Madi said she liked the movie and we both laughed through the whole thing. If you haven't seen it I recommend it :) Some people may think it is dumb but hey I kind of like the cheesy movies!! We finally went to sleep at 11 or 12.

We woke up and went to my brother Scott's track meet to watch him do a little high jump but don't you worry it was freezing cold outside and I was wearing flip flops. No one told me it was outdoor season...

After the boys went home and the girls went shopping!! What else do you when it is just the girls??? :) ha ha. Guess who we ran into...Yep that is Cosmo!!! Sweet ya we totally had to get a picture with him!!!

That night we had a little Easter Egg hunt with all the grand kids that were in town. So much fun!! They got so much candy in their little baskets!!! Score!! :)

So the next day I woke up and watched Conference. Oh how I love being able to listen to the leaders of the church!! They have so much love for all of us and no matter what has happened in our lives we can change with the support and love from our Savior!! I know that to be true :) If you didn't get a chance to listen or watch conference I recommend it!! I got to go to the conference center to watch Sunday Morning's Session and it was awesome to be in the Prophet and Apostles' presence. Thanks BISHOP for the tickets!! So during the second session on Saturday I got to babysit Debbie's kids. We decided to play dress-ups/beauty pageant. Madi picked out clothes and Raef and I were the judges. Then Raef picked out clothes for Madi to dress in and I judged. It was great fun and I think Madi had a good time looking through my clothes and shoes!! The categories were "Work Attire" "Shopping Outfit" and "A Night on the Town" Madi's outfits are first and then Raef's :) Enjoy!! You let me know what you think...

Shut Up and Dance

So last weekend I was listening to the radio while cleaning my room and I hear the DJ say "I need caller number ten to win tickets to Shut Up and Dance" So I frantically start looking for my phone. I search through the blankets on my bed but not there...so I grab my purse and thank heavens my phone was right on top (I am one of those people who loves big purses and if you like big purses you know what I mean when you hear your phone go off and finally find it in time to see you have missed the call). So I was happy I found my phone at the perfect time. I called the station and it started ringing and the DJ answered saying hello!!! I knew I had won because if you are not the right caller he will say "you are caller number 8 try again". So I freak out because I want to hear myself on the radio ha ha. I called my cousin Angie and asked her to come along since I had won two tickets. Her sister Heidi came along as well and we got to see Shut Up and Dance last night. It is a production put on by Oddessy Dance Theater. It was funny and kind of weird at the same time. I would totally recommend it (especially for free)!! After we went and got ice cream at Iceberg. Overall it was a fantastic night. I left my camera at home so hopefully the picture we took on Heidi's phone works!!

And no I am not about to start a business of making new articles of clothing. The last shirt I made was in junior high and it was way too short and way too fat. ha ha. Good times in sewing class :)

A group of friends and I went to the movie "New Moon" on Friday night and I loved it!!! Oh man Jacob was very nice to look at with his shirt off but I am still a die hard Edward fan!! This morning while driving to the Scera Park I stopped by my dad's and my cousin Mark was sitting eating his cereal. I invited him to come and walk a 5K to help find a cure for Diabetes. He was all for it so we went to the Scera Park. There were so many people there and I was on the Richard and Elizabeth Team. I got a sweet t-shirt that Elizabeth designed. Elizabeth is Richard's daughter and Richard is one of the branch managers at UCCU. So that is how I got on the Richard and Elizabeth Team. It was a lot of fun!! I saw a lot of co-workers and some other interesting people...ha ha. I loved it and want to do it again!! Here are a few pictures for your viewing enjoyment :)

Time for something new...

So the one nice thing about having long hair is that if you want a change you can chop off your hair. Well once your hair is short then it is a little bit harder to have a change because it takes months and months and months to grow it back out. Well that is what I am attempting to do. I want to have long hair again but it is taking too long. Also my hair is at the dreaded inbetween spot where if I do it straight or under it will always by the end of the day flip out. Oh the joys of trying to grow your hair out and not getting sick of the inbetween stage and chopping it all off again!! Wish me luck and Deb I think my hair is longer than yours...ha ha. Oh and I keep seeing all these cute short hair styles and that makes me want to go short again but Debbie and I are both having a little contest to see who can grow out our hair the fastest and guess what I think I am winning!!! ha ha.

***Oh but the few bad things about having long locks is that it will take me longer to do my hair, the price of getting my hair done will go up and I will have to use more shampoo and conditioner...is it really worth it???

So my friends Ashlee, Melinda and I all went to the Lonestar Concert at the Scera Shell. It was one of the best $15 I have ever spent!!!! I got to touch the lead singers hand...TWICE!!! This older women that was probably in her 60's got to touch his hand as well and she turned around and hugged me because she was soo excited (maybe even more than me!!) ha ha. Well here are a few pictures enjoy!!! Oh and these men are the new loves of my life :) Oh and yes we were right by the stage!!! I did get to touch his hand twice :) ha ha

One Crazy LONG Weekend!!!

So this weekend was the Board Retreat at the Zermatt Resort and Spa. I have been super crazy busy at work leading up to this. I have been on the phone a lot and sent lots of emails to the Zermatt and guess what??? It was a success!!! Thank heavens that nothing traumatic happened and all the Board Members seemed to enjoy themselves!! I sat in meetings pretty much all weekend and had to be there by 8:00 am and everyone that knows me that I hate waking up early so that was a chore in itself!! I text my little brother Scott and told him to come up and stay the night because my room was pretty fancy. He brought his friend Jake and we all went to the steam room that had eucalyptus sprayed into the room. I sat in the sauna and went to the pool. It was nice and I ate so much food that I haven't really eaten anything in 24 hours because just the smell and sound of eating made me sick...Sorry I forgot my camera but it was fun and I am happy the retreat is all done (at least for another year)!!!

So when I got home I slept for hours because I was soo tired from waking up at the crack of dawn on Friday and Saturday. Then it was time to head to the FRAY Concert!! It was absolutely amazing!!! Diana and I won tickets off the radio so Lucas decided to buy a ticket for him and the three of us headed up!! So fun but don't make fun of my puffy eyes from being super tired all weekend!! Enjoy the pics...

I made it 40 miles!!!

I rode 40 miles last Saturday in Logan Utah for MS. It was a great ride and I felt awesome after :) I am glad I did it and now I can say that I can go 40 miles on my bike!!! Yeah yeah it was awesome!!! Here are a few pictures :)

Three Day Weekends means ROAD TRIPS!!! For Memorial Day weekend Diana, Lucas, Scott and I went up to visit my cousins in Idaho. It was fun to go up and play and show Lucas around. We went and ate at the famous Big Judds, went to the man made falls, hiked in the 17 mile Cave, went on another hike and visited the Rexburg temple!! It was a nice relaxing and fun packed weekend!! :)

SO my little brother needed to go down to Dixie College to play some basketball and my boss was nice enough to let me have another day off and we went for a nice little road trip to St George but ended up in VEGAS!! ha ha I just love Vegas!!! Here are a few pictures from the trip...

Well I have already posted these on facebook but I figured I should probably put them here too!! So at my work Christmas party we had a little drawing for prizes and guess what...I had a winning ticket. They were giving out all sorts of fun things. The one I really wanted was the $100 gift card to the mall. My friend Stephanie got it, lucky I know. Well to my surprise my name got drawn out when they were giving out the snow shoeing pass. I was excited to win but I am really not all that outdoorsy. As my friend Jon puts it I am an indoor dog and ya know what I am ok with that!! ha ha except when it is warm outside then I like to be outside. I think it is just the cold I don' t like. Diana, Lucas, Melinda and I all went :) Anyway enough rambling...here are the pictures!!!Yes I did fall down and couldn't get up...It hurt so bad but ya know I will try it one more time. The indoor dog is willing to go back out in the cold to play some more :) ha ha

Oh my the concert was absolutely AMAZING!!! I loved every second of it!! Here are a few pics from the show :) Jessica Simpson was on first and after her the real show began!!! My sister Diana and I went up and had too much fun!!!

So I am so excited for American Idol!! I love this show but I am not too excited about three nights a week of sitting on my couch watching people make fools of themselves on National TV. It is so entertaining but so much wasted time...ha ha. I love it though but my favorite always seems to come in second. Hopefully my fav from this year will win!!! Love this show!!!!

The big count down to 2009 happened in Vegas Baby!!! Yeah yeah I had a lot of fun and met some nice people at the LDS single's dance :) and if you were wondering no there was no kissing this year, BUT there is always next year....ha ha

The girls and I had a lot of fun dancing and disappointing all the guys when we told them we lived in Utah. ha ha. Another year come and gone with much more to learn!! Happy New Year Everyone!!!

Merry Christmas Everyone :)

Christmas this year was a little less crazy than last year. We were missing three families totaling 14 people. It was still a fun filled Christmas which I enjoyed. Santa brought me a new DVD up-converter for my bedroom and lots of socks and gloves and toilet paper. He must have known I was running low :) ha ha. We watched lots of movies and ate a whole 9 pound ham, thanks to my the CEO, and played games which I won 2/3 not too bad!!! I got to talk to my little brother that is serving in Mexico City on his mission. It was fun chatting it up and hearing what he did on Christmas as a missionary. It felt just like old times when I would call and talk to him!!! He is doing great :)

1- I am a pro bargain shopper.
2- While shopping I usually don't have to try anything on. I can tell if it will fit me by looking at it.
3- Talking for hours on the phone to my sisters.
4- Causing boy drama in my life :)
5- Cleaning my desk at work by the end of the day.
6- Pay all my bills on time.

7 Things I Can't Do
1- Keeping my bedroom clean. I try to clean it and the next day it is a mess again.
2- Remembering everything that needs to get done. I remember stuff for work during the day so I will email myself so I remember when I get to work.
3- Keeping a budget. I love to shop but I pay for everything on time.
4- Calling and ask boys out on dates...I get so nervous and HATE doing it.
5- I just can't get myself to LOVE the snow. I hate it!!
6- I am trying to ween myself off of being addicted to Facebook.
7- Stay mad at someone. I normally forget what happened and realize that I was mad at them when it was too late.

7 Things that attracted me to my husband
1- Well he will be attractive
2- He will be funny. I laugh at a lot so that won't be too hard :)

New Calling

So I got a new calling in my ward last Sunday!!! I am a Relief Society Teacher once again. Apparently I need to start learning something again because I had a little 6 month break from teaching and here I am again about to teach the girls in my ward. Also I think they are trying to get me to my ward on time. I have Relief Society first at 9:00am so it makes it a little hard to get out of bed on Sunday mornings...ha ha but I now have to be good and make it to church on time!!! It is good for me. I am excited for my calling because I really like teaching but it will be a change because I really don't know too many girls in my ward. I guess it is better late than never to start getting to know more people in my ward!! Wish me luck... :)

Twilight!!!

SO I absolutely LOVED Twilight!!! I took Friday off to babysit my nieces and nephew and I figured what better time to go see Twilight than on my day off :) Madi and I went to the 10:00am showing because we figured people would be at work. We were wrong!! The line went all the way around the building but we still got pretty good seats. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I really liked but who wouldn't want to watch Edward Cullen for 2 hours straight?!?! I totally recommend it to everyone and this will be one movie I will own :) I love Edward!!!

My friend Jeff called me today at like 4:00 and asked me to come to the play Thriller up in Salt Lake with him. Of course I have wanted to go to this for so long, so I went to his place and we met up with a bunch of his friends. We stopped at "The Pie" to eat. It was sooo good. I loved it :) Then off to Thriller we went. Here are a few pictures of us and some dead people :)

The dead people freaked me out so bad!!! I screamed in public with tons of people around three different times while outside and everyone was laughing at me. One lady even came up to me and told me she was glad it was me and not her :( sad day. ha ha but I love it!! Inside while waiting for Thriller ever scary person came straight for me because they knew they would be able to scare me. Blah. Scary!!! If you can't tell from my face I had already been scared :) ha ha

So last night I went to a nice little Halloween party. Oh I just love to dress up and have fun. Well it was a dress up party and I had no idea what I would do because I had three hours to come up with something. I called my sister Debbie and this is what she recommended...

So I think the best part of the night was when I was driving over to my friend Brynn's house some guy kept checking me out in my Hannah Montana wig!!! He must have wanted an autograph!!! Too bad I wasn't carrying a pen. I will remember that for next time :)

It was a fun night being Hannah but I don't know how many more times I could do it...ha ha. Someone asked me if I was Brittany Spears and I got a little offended but it happens to the best of us :) All I know is that I really like having my hair short because having long hair is annoying!!!

So last night I went to the musical AIDA with Erin and it was awesome!!! It was at the Hale Center Theater and I recommend it to everyone. One of Erin's friends was the lead and a guy in my ward was also in it. So if you live around Utah County I think you should consider going to the musical instead of a movie!!! Sorry I didn't get any pictures but I had a lot of fun with Erin. Thanks Erin you rock :) I also enjoyed the frozen yogurt afterwards at Spoon Me. It was an all over fabulous night!!!

AMAZING WEEKEND!!!

So my weekend started out going to the Corn Maze at Thanksgiving Point with Erin and his roommates. I met him through my co-worker Risto. They are roomies and Erin called me up and asked me to go with him. It was such a blast. We first went through the haunted corn maze and can I tell you wearing light colors is not the smartest thing. Every single scary monster person came after me because I freak out so bad!!! Yeah Erin and I pretty much ran through the whole thing!!! ha ha. Then we went on a hay ride and went to the normal corn maze. It was great. We then came back to my place and watched "Music and Lyrics".

Then on Saturday I went out with my friend Jeremy on a huge group date. We have known each other for years and he now lives in a different state. We went to the Scream Asylum in Provo. Yeah I freaked out as usual but it didn't help that Jeremy was pushing me into them!!! Lame :) ha ha. We got some nice monkey masks and had too much fun with them!!!
